Steam is the fullest version of Big Walk: it covers both Windows and macOS in one purchase, supports mouse and keyboard alongside most controllers, and is the only platform with visible achievement statistics — which is where every global unlock rate quoted on this site comes from.
It is also the version with a review score attached. Metacritic has the PC release at 94, universal acclaim, the highest of the three platform aggregates.

Two things worth flagging beyond the numbers. The minimum GPU list is unusually old (a GTX 750 Ti) while the minimum RAM is 12 GB, which suggests this is a CPU-and-memory game more than a graphics one. And if you are the host, your frame rate is a group concern — House House state that a host running at a low frame rate causes network problems for everyone in the session.
Full requirements including macOS are on the system requirements page.
Steam-specific features
12 achievements. All of them are listed with their global unlock rates on the achievements page. Two are hidden.
Steam Cloud. Note that this does not change the save model — the host machine still holds the run, and there is no host migration.
Friends list joining. The host’s active session appears automatically for Steam friends, so no join code is needed within a Steam group. Codes still work and are how you bring in people on other platforms.
Cross-Platform Multiplayer. Listed on the store page. A Steam host can run a session for PS5, Switch 2 and Mac App Store players simultaneously.
Controller support. Full controller support is listed, including DualShock and DualSense.
The Mac App Store is a separate purchase with one meaningful difference — no Game Center support, which means no friends list. If you are buying for macOS and have the choice, the Steam version avoids that limitation.
