Big Walk Landmarks

Seven places Big Walk names itself, in its own achievement strings — ordered by how many players have actually reached each one.

Big Walk does not publish a map, and House House have not named a single region, zone or area in any press material, store listing or FAQ answer. What the game does name — in the achievement strings shipped with it — is seven specific places.

That is a small list, and it is the complete one that can be sourced. Every entry below comes from a first-party string, and the ordering comes from Steam’s global unlock rates, which turns a list of names into a rough sequence.

The seven named places

The environment they sit in is Australian bushland and granite coastline. House House drew on Wilsons Promontory National Park in Victoria for the setting — eucalypt forest, orange-lichened boulders, long beaches — and the official screenshots show flat-coloured artificial structures dropped into it: a bright yellow-green tower and walkway, a yellow metal frame, red and blue markers.

What the order tells you

Unlock rates are not a map, but they are a sequence.

The drawbridge is the end of the opening. At 81.5% it is the one milestone almost everyone reaches, and it is what the game’s own title achievement is attached to.

The map is where most groups stop. 34.9%. It is the first place that requires the whole group to get somewhere together, and it loses more than half of everyone who crossed the drawbridge. Note the verb: the achievement is Big View — “Visit the map”. It is a location you walk to, not a screen you open.

The chairlift and the train are the midgame. 8.2% and 4.3%. Two separate ride-along traversal systems, which is more transport infrastructure than most walking games contain.

The highest point is a single summit. 4.0%, just below the train.

The big tunnel and the wall are the end. 1.3% and 0.2%. The wall shares its exact rate with the hidden achievement Big Goodbye, which suggests the ending is close behind it.

Why there are no region pages here

Several Big Walk wikis publish forty-plus individual area pages with names like intro-valley, opt-tele-ridge, green-tower-yellow-diffuser-ridge and five-mile-valley-green-diffuser.

Those names do not appear in any published source. Their form — abbreviations, colour-plus-object compounds, “opt” prefixes — matches internal development identifiers rather than anything a player encounters in the game. They may well have been pulled from shipped game files, which would make them real strings but not published ones.

This site does not build URLs on names it cannot verify, because a slug is a claim: it asserts that this is what the place is called. Where House House have named something, it is on this page. Where they have not, there is no page, and the gap is stated rather than filled.

If official region names are published later — in a patch, an art book, a developer post — they get added and the verification date changes.
