Big Walk launched on Nintendo Switch 2 on 4 August 2026, alongside every other platform. It is a 3.9 GB download, currently $14.99 on sale, and it is the only console version with pointer input — House House explicitly support the Switch 2’s mouse mode.
Metacritic has the Switch 2 version at 82, generally favourable. That is the lowest of the three platform aggregates but still comfortably in favourable territory.

3.9 GB is small for an open-world game, which is consistent with what the environments actually are: real Australian bushland and granite coastline rendered plainly, with flat-coloured characters and structures on top of it. There is not much texture budget being spent on realism.

Mouse mode
From the official FAQ, on input: “The computer version of the game supports most game controllers. And we even support the mouse mode of the Nintendo Switch 2.”
That “even” is doing some work. Mouse mode is a Switch 2 feature that most third-party games ignore, and Big Walk is a game where pointing at distant landscape features is a real mechanic — the tool list includes a laser pointer, and the communication feature set includes pointing and gesturing as a fallback for when you cannot talk.
For a group split across platforms, this means the Switch 2 player is not handicapped relative to the mouse-and-keyboard players when it comes to navigation and indicating. That is unusual enough to be worth knowing before you decide who buys what.
Nintendo Switch Online is required
The eShop listing states that Nintendo Switch Online membership is required for online play and save data cloud functionality.
Big Walk is online-only with no single-player mode, so on this platform NSO is not optional — without it, there is no game to play. Budget for it the same way you would budget for the $14.99.
Note the save-model interaction: NSO cloud saves back up your data, but Big Walk’s run lives on the host machine regardless of platform. Cloud saves do not make your progress portable to another host.
Modes and input
All three console modes work: TV, tabletop and handheld. Nothing about the game is documented as mode-restricted.
Inputs: Joy-Con 2, Pro Controller, and mouse mode. All controls are rebindable via Settings > Rebinding.
Crossplay is on. A Switch 2 player can host or join sessions with Steam, Mac App Store and PS5 players in any combination. Joining works through the Nintendo Switch Online friends list, or by join code — which is what you will use for anyone on another platform.
Languages: the eShop lists thirteen, including Japanese, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Korean, Russian, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, American English and Polish.
